This time last year I was in Colombia. One month before I sat a top mountains in Peru. I met the National Grafatti champion, of all the people to pass by. He painted a portrait of my face on the walls in Cusco and we toured the courtyards, the ruins, the winding stairs of an ancient city. I tried to return the next day to find the etchings of the night before but it was a housed on a wall deep in the mystical streets of Peru.

The Sky

I once climbed to the top of the world and there I met the Sky. His words soft, warm and malleable as if from mountainous truth, free from disdain. He told me that he would never fall. Never change to dust. Never go back in time. Never become what he never was.

I never understood, per say, though I see what he meant. I'm passionate about many things and of love I want to learn. To see where the waves touch the land. To see my footprints follow me home.

This isn't a play on words, a Holiday tune to date.

But when I saw you speak, the words sliding from your lips a stillness came to be. I sat in the arch that your breeze drew. I waited in the hammock, swayed back and forth until I fell asleep.

Vivid dreams, realities, moments in between. Bated breath, quiet tides, warming rays, rippling the sand.

Not changing, the Sky remains, breathing, heart beating touching ocean, trees and Sun. He told, from a whim or from fate. He told me we were one.

For as you know a voice of feelings speaks ever quietly, yet like a breeze through the grass it touches everything it sees.

All rhyming aside there is depth, nurture, there is stillness in this clam, as there is uprooting, healing and renewing after the storm. I see where I'm going and I see where I went. I understand the propensity and I understand what you said.

But all jokes aside come myth or come truth, I can hear you breathing and feel the rasp of that which I took.

So, my cousin's a knife. Or her blog alias is a knife. Either way there's a lot to be said about the name of a knife. It's suiting as a straight forward personality that can at any moment strike you with rolling on the floor humor to antidotes in truth to discovers from within the honest mirror. These days her blog is a selection of interesting, thoughtful and ironic art, and while I like to create from my island, looking back to 50's - 70's photos is especially engaging for me. It's the lomo. It's the vintage. It's the photos before bend and hooche. Included in this pile was a list of ways to stay creative. The pages of list capturing my attention from image to image. What I would like to say if I could say anything.

So who could I tell this to if not to everybody? Soon I leave, as I’ve done a million times before, yet different. ‘There is a whole world out there,’ you say. There is a whole heart in here wondering, asking, feeling. To you I propose, where is the real world but where my love is; the real truth. The known and the unknowns gather together in perfect harmony. Why do we create things so beautiful to only tear them down? I’ve wondered this, not when it’s unbalanced but when it’s mutual, when it’s all. When it’s perfect who runs and why? I run. I run often. As figurative as it is literal, spoken from the thighs of speechless athlete rapidly putting one foot in front in the other for an hour of intervals ever night and combined with Capoeira, swimming, dancing, and more. The strength from which my body can sway, bend and bow is but amazing and true. The physical, in my culture rewarded, praised and sought yet things of heart still unknown. Fear isn’t attached to its rapidity, rather love, lust and yearning. There is a passion to running, to athletics says this former Rugby player and lifelong energy fiend. But sometimes it gets the best of you. Adrenaline pumps, courses to confuse the very mind it seeks to heal and the race becomes against the very valves that give it life.

There are voices, many voices. They all say different things. They all mean different things. But they are all equal. They are all from the same place. None of them are mine. My true voice is wordless; spoken only through movement, stillness and breath. I speak of moments but I don’t know that you understand. The depth and breadth from which I feel is a vessel so deep, knowing and true that if there is anything real and good in this world that nothing else can ever be.

I love your eyes and I love your skin. It’s so soft when it touches mine; sewn together as if never before apart. That’s the point really isn’t it; oneness. True harmony is but one perfect tone sung as the rivers pool together and the earth is still, when your sweet breath touches mine and the world no longer spins, when the stars speak of destiny, when forever, a moment begins.
